What you need for a Work Visa
Expatriate staff all need a work visa which may take several months or more to recieve. The requirements to get a work visa involve all of the following. It is imperative that you keep a copy of all this information in addition to what you send to HIS. If it is digitalized that is even better.
- A flexible attitude and one that is submissive to authority. If this is a difficulty for you, it is best to stop here and not go any further.
- A photocopy of EVERY page in your passport, including the inside covers, front and back. For spouse and children, only the main information/photo pages are needed.
- Copy of birth certificate(s) for all members of your family
- Copy of your marriage license (if currently married)
- Your CV or Resume’
- Letter of Good Conduct from your local police authority. (Sometimes called a background check)
- Teaching Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree and other certificates or diplomas you hold.
- 3 References, with complete name, address, phone numbers
- A digital photo of yourself (mug shot) with a red background. Or 8 prints in size 4cm x 6cm. (can take these yourself with a digital camera and a red sheet in the background)
- The Indonesian Consular that is located closest to you. If you are unsure, you can search the web.
- Proof of life insurance
- List of emergency contact information… who should we contact in case something happens to you: name, address, phone numbers, cell phone numbers, email address, and other important information that would help us to help you. We have a form you can use if you would like.
- A completed Teacher Health form. (the conditions here are extreme, and some illnesses are not conducive to this environment)
- A letter of intent to teach in ________ position at HIS without salary or compensation, and a desire to help support the development of Papua.
- It is important to have both Health insurance and Emergency Evacuation insurance as well. This is not a requirement for the visa, but is a requirement of HIS to make sure you are covered in the event of an emergency.
