What about transportation?
Taxis abound, but they aren't private, pay-by-the minute taxis. They are actually minivans that run a fixed route, like a bus. However, about every thirty seconds one comes by and costs about 50 cents. You can take a motorcycle taxi anywhere for a little more.
People do walk places as well, and most people in the missionary community have cars and motorcycles with which to get around. The school also has vehicles available to rent. In Indonesia, you drive on the left hand side of the road. Being comfortable with a stick shift will help, as most cars use a manual transmission.
