Requirements for Incoming Teachers

I would like to take this time to say a special thanks for your interest in Hillcrest International School. HIS is a faith based mission school. This means that all of our teachers come to us from one of ten mission organizations. As a member of one of these organizations, each teacher is required to raise their own monthly support and one time expenses.

HIS does not pay any salary, stipend, housing allowance, travel allowance, or any other type of financial honorarium. Each mission organization establishes a monthly budget for the teacher, and does a complete background check and screening. All teachers must be individuals who have made a personal commitment to being a disciple of Jesus Christ, and share testimony about how they are growing in their personal faith and relationship with Him. In addition, all teachers must be willing and able to sign and agree to the HIS Statement of Faith. In additions, most positions require that the applicants have a college and university degree.  Experience is also desired for most positions. The Staff Handbook has more complete information about the requirements and other information that you need. Check with the school director for what is expected for most positions.

The steps required to join the staff involve filling out a Staff Application Form. Teachers must also have a Teacher Health Form filled out. These may most easily be accomplished by printing them out, filling them in, scanning them, and emailing them to HIS. Expatriate staff also need a work visa which may take several months to complete.
