Main Campus
Meandering over the top of a grassy hill, the HIS campus includes K-12 facilities, two dorms, and housing for administrative and short-term teaching staff. Classrooms and open-air hallways surround courtyards splashed with foliage and dotted with thatch pondok shelters provide an environment conducive to studying and relaxing. Looking north from the campus is a picturesque waterfall coming down the side of Mt. Cyclops—a towering, tree-covered 7,000 foot mountain. Below the falls is a winding river in a narrow valley of gardens and villages separating the school hill and the next hill. The view is different every day as clouds play against the mountain face.

High School Campus
Established in 1987, the HIS high school complex has ten classrooms, a library, a computer lab, a teachers' resource room, a student store, and administrative offices - all air-conditioned. Lunches are ordered from local restaurants and students eat outside in thatch-roofed pondoks or on the steps. Student numbers are small—usually around 60—and the fellowship is close.
A pondok is a traditional grass thatched roof sitting area, and HIS has several of these around the campus. The pondoks serve as hubs of activity at HIS. Students find them a good place to do their homework during study hall, to eat their lunch, or to just hang out with friends, catching a breeze and looking at the view.
Elementary/Middle School Campus
The elementary and middle school has approximately 100 students (K-8). The E/MS campus is adjacent to, but nicely separated from, the high school area. E/MS classrooms are air-conditioned. Its campus has its own pondoks and a playground. Half the computer lab is just for E/MS students. The library is also subdivided with a large area designated for E/MS books and resources. The gym, soccer field, and auditorium are shared by both E/MS and high school.
The children sometimes just like to hang out in the pondoks or in the spacious outdoor eating area laughing with friends. These provide shade from the tropical sun but let a refreshing breeze blow through from across the valley.
