Academics

2nd gradeThe majority of HIS students are from the United States, so Hillcrest employs a curriculum derived from the U.S. system. However, students are able—and encouraged—to study their passport language in a classroom environment or as independent study, should a parent or teacher be available to supervise.

Advanced Placement courses are offered to assist American students looking for a head start on college as well as international students intending to get a college education in countries other than the U.S.A.

Because of the level of written and spoken English required in high school, the school will generally not admit high school students who do not have an adequate command of written and spoken English.

Mrs Moore ArtEach morning, classes begin with prayer and Bible study. Along with the standard subjects, music, art, special education, and ESL are offered as staff are available. Musical concerts are performed each semester. Good science equipment provides a hands-on program of learning. Most E/MS students receive two periods weekly in Indonesian language instruction. The students also enjoy their recess and the physical education classes in the gym.
